So, the blog has changed a little. It's Mrs Speech's fault.
You see, she wanted to start an Etsy shop to sell her crafts. No problem. She also wanted a blog, in fact, she really needed a blog to advertise her various crafty things.
So I made her a blog. And then, I did an Etsy shop for her. And the banner for it.
And then I tried to put the banner on our blog, where you see it now. And it broke the page.
I was aware that the blog was very graphics-intensive before, but adding that little banner sent small plumes of smoke heading ceiling-ward from my computer. It was the straw that broke the camel's ability to load graphics.
So I took away the beautiful Brisbane background and replaced it with the pink. Which will stay until I figure out something else to put there that looks decent. Hopefully an image of our town which doesn't break the blog.
The pink also hopefully for a little while will draw attention to Mrs Speech's new shop.
This is totally a girl AND guy blog and no, I'm not comfortable with a pink background. Maybe I'll change it up soon and put a new background of skulls and stuff there.
In the meantime, if anyone has issues with loading our blog, please let us know.
Thanks!

Move along. Nothing to see here.
So when I (Mr Speech) launched this thing I just really wanted to get us Speechies blogging. Couldn't do that without launching it.
However, as is sometimes the case with these thingsit wasn't close to being ready it needed a little polish. A buff. Wax on, wax off sort of thing.
So, if you arrived here in the past couple days and saw the header at the bottom of the page or just a big purple-green thing instead of the page, then, I apologise.
I'm almost done.
Then again, maybe that header could be a little greener...hmmm...

"I'm sorry, your accent is not familiar to me. Would you like to try another?"
What kind of a name is Speech Not Recognised for a blog?
Well, it's a running joke for us which began a couple months ago.
Mrs Speech, who is American and who speak-a-no-Strine, tried to use the speech recognition app on Chrome on my computer.
Speech not recognised.
She tried again.
Speech not recognised.
And again.
Speech not recognised.
She tried to say 'kookaburra' and small tendrils of smoke began emanating from the casing of my machine.
I can do it just fine, though. I'm Mr Speech. Hi, how are you.
So for those of you who know us, welcome. It's been a long time between blogs. When we last left you, the Brisbane floods had pretty much just happened. It's been a long time between blogs.
For those of you who don't know us, thanks for visiting, too!
So this is our second attempt at blogging together. We'll share our lives, our loves, our dreams. Our hopes and fears. Together, we'll achieve our destiny. Something like that.
So join us on our merry little journey. It'll look something like this:

Well, hopefully. Godspeed, Mr Armstrong.

I have no idea what this is.
So, something we were thinking of doing, is sharing recipes we like. Off to the right there, is one for a grilled cheese.
Obviously that's not too flash, but we've done a couple interesting dishes lately, and thought it would be good to share how good they were and whether our kitchen was still intact afterward. If I (Mr Speech) was involved in any way, it probably isn't.
Also, if anyone wants to suggest an idea for a recipe, please let us know! Maybe we can give it a shot.
