Today I am adding a little bit of femininity to the blog.

This is a post where I talk about make-up, hair accessories, clothing, jewellery, and shoes.

So if you are not into the girlie stuff, I recommend one of my husband's posts.

Saturday night my craft group got together and we had a girls' night. I love girls' night. It's a great night of friends, yummy food, and fun as we work on our quilting, or knitting, or the like. Oh, and pots and pots of tea!

Girls' night is a perfect excuse for dressing up. Putting on a bit of make-up, combing my hair...hey, even curling it...and throwing an outfit together. Why? Because it makes me feel good!

Most of the week, I live in lounge pants, a t-shirt, and a pony tail with very little or no make-up. I know, sad. It's a bad habit I got into. I don't even have kids to use as an excuse. It's just my husband and I. And, honestly, I truly should make more of an effort for my husband to look pretty every day. As I already stated, it does make me feel good when I do.

Saturday night I chose to take the time to curl my hair...{shocking, I know}. I wore my big pink flower headband, which I made for myself a couple years ago. I don't know why I haven't made more of these. I have what I need to make them. They are pretty. And, I like to wear them. Hmmm, perhaps you'll be seeing me in more of them.

Hey, I even put make-up on. My make-up bag consists of a bit of this and a bit of that...a little American...a little Australian. I'm still wearing the Victoria's Secret make-up I brought over with me from America. And, I was thrilled to find Cover Girl mascara here on sale for $5! American cosmetics are usually twice the price here in Australia. I have found a nice little shop selling an affordable brand, BYS - products range between $4 - $5.

Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize! Following this mantra of every fashionista, in addition to my lovely pink hair accessory, I donned my favorite teal rhinestone earrings. Okay, so they are my only teal earrings. Still one of my favorites! I found these beauties about three years ago while on holiday in America, visiting friends in Orlando, Florida at a shop's going out of business sale - 70% off! Yes, a woman never forgets a good sale.

Must have accessories: (top left to right)pretty purse, Gussy, some bling-bling (bottom left to right)statement ring, sunsational sunnies
A pretty purse compliments any outfit. I found this purse at our local mall. My favorite feature of this purse is the big ruffled flower detail on the front. This purse is nearly a year old, but I think I am going to get many more years out of it. It's big and roomy and is the prettiest carrier for my Gussy pouch. My cell phone travels in my Gussy. Don't you just love the cheery yellow/polka dots with the pink ruffle combination?

I very rarely wear an ankle bracelet. This day I was feeling the need for more sparkle than usual. Ever have those days? I think it adds some pizazz to my pink T-strap thongs I found at Wal-Mart in America a couple of summers ago. Thongs? Yes, "thongs". If I were to ask where the flip-flops are at Big W here in Queensland, the only reply I would receive would be looks of confusion. Unlike America, "thongs" are not skimpy unmentionables...here, they are what everyone wears on their feet all year long.

A gal needs jewellery that makes a statement. My soft pink fabric ring with a rhinestone center says, "I'm girlie and I know it!" I won this beauty from a blog giveaway I entered. That was a few years ago...I don't remember the name of the blog or the sponsor. I'm pretty sure it was an Etsy shop. Do you recognize it?

To finish off my look, a lass in Australian's Sunshine State must have a sensational pair of sunnies (sunglasses for my American readers). Mine are old, I know. I picked them up last time I was in America. You can't see it from this shot, but the sides are covered in sparkles. Yep, that was the selling point for me. Sparkles, you say? Sold!
